Your smile’s appearance plays an important role in your overall sense of self-confidence. Unfortunately, if you frequently consume dark foods and beverages or if you occasionally or frequently use tobacco products, your smile might be afflicted with chronic dental stains. One of the more popular options for improving your smile’s appearance and resisting future stains is to have custom dental veneers installed at Academy Park Dental Assoc..
This is a two-stage cosmetic restoration that is designed to replace the faces of your teeth with thin, porcelain shells. This special dental-grade porcelain is shaded to look just like natural teeth.
Dr. Cathy Fermelia will start by performing a thorough examination of the teeth in your smile to make sure each one has sufficient enamel to securely mount a veneer. If you have a tooth that lacks sufficient tooth enamel, Dr. Cathy Fermelia might recommend having it restored with a porcelain dental crown.
Dr. Cathy Fermelia will then use a drill to remove a small amount of enamel from the face of each tooth to prepare the surface. A detailed impression will be made of each tooth in your smile. This will be sent to a professional dental lab where your porcelain veneers will be custom made.
When they are ready, a member of our Academy Park Dental Assoc. staff will call you to schedule the second appointment. Dr. Cathy Fermelia will then cement each veneer into place.
If you live in the Lakewood, Colorado, area and your smile has been affected by cosmetic imperfections, you should call 303-987-2121 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Cathy Fermelia.
